The wife of astronaut Tim Peake has spoken of her delight at the launch of the rocket carrying him into space.
Major Peake's wife Rebecca and their two sons watched the blast-off from a special viewing area around a mile from the launch pad in Kazakhstan.
Surrounded by other family members, she was heard to say: "Wasn't it an amazing sight? I had the biggest smile on my face."
She also told her sons: "Daddy's in space now."

A friend of the astronaut, Phil Towle, who was watching in Major Peake's hometown of Chichester, West Sussex, called the take-off "awesome".
He told Sky News: "We have been looking forward to it for the last six years."
Youngsters at Major Peake's primary school said he had inspired them.
One, Harriet, said: "I love the way that he faces his challenges head on and he's definitely inspired, I think, lots of the kids here to be an astronaut and get more involved in science."

He said: "Tim, I know you have been dreaming of this day for a long time, and we will be with you every step of the way, watching with admiration and wonder.
"So on behalf of everyone in Britain, let me wish you the very best of luck. You are doing us proud."
